it takes me some time to find the high-end face of row dtla because i enter through the old market side. and nothing prepares me for the juxtaposition once i find the wood slat doors and transition from the LA of back-breaking immigrant labor and debris-filled parking lots to the LA of brunches and mango swizzlers on top of a posh concrete bar.
